Groundworks worker

Do you enjoy working outdoors, are you a hands-on person, and would you like to work on exciting projects in the civil engineering sector? Then we’re looking for you!

We are looking for a groundworker who enjoys getting stuck in. Together with your colleagues, you’ll work on a wide range of projects in civil engineering. From groundworks and clearing the way for cables and pipes to assisting machine operators and carrying out other tasks on the construction site.

No two days are the same. You’ll work at different sites and deal with a variety of machines, tasks and conditions. You’ll work closely with machine operators, drivers and colleagues on the ground. Together, you’ll ensure that the work is carried out safely, neatly and on schedule.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who knows how to get things done. Experience in groundwork is a bonus, but we consider a good work ethic, a sense of responsibility and the willingness to learn the trade to be just as important.

What are you going to do?

• Carrying out various groundworks.
• Digging and clearing the area around cables and pipes.
• Assisting machine operators during excavation and dredging work.
• Preparing the work site and leaving it tidy.
• Working with hand tools and small equipment.
• Working alongside machine operators, drivers and other colleagues on the project.
• Ensuring a safe and tidy working environment.
• Contributing ideas and taking the initiative where necessary within the project.

What are you bringing with you?

• You’re a go-getter and enjoy working outdoors.
• You have an interest in earthworks and heavy machinery.
• Experience as a groundworks operator in the civil engineering sector is an advantage.
• You are able to work well as part of a team, but can also carry out tasks independently.
• You are flexible and have no problem working at different project sites.
• You have an eye for safety and take responsibility for your work.
• A VCA certificate is an advantage, or you must be willing to obtain one.
• A Category B driving licence is an advantage.
