General staff member

We are looking for a General Staff Member who enjoys getting stuck in. You’ll have a varied role in which no two working days are exactly the same. One day you might be helping out on site or in the warehouse; the next, you might be supporting colleagues with machinery, materials or work on site.

You don’t need to have experience in everything just yet. What matters most to us is that you motivated, practical and not afraid to get stuck in. Can you see your work lying there? Then pick it up.

You will be working in a technical environment involving large-scale machinery, earth-moving equipment and various civil engineering projects.

What are you going to do?

Your duties will be varied and will include, amongst other things:

• Assisting with various tasks on site and in the warehouse.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of machinery, materials and parts.
• Setting out and tidying away materials and tools.
• Supporting fitters, machine operators and other colleagues.
• Carrying out simple maintenance and cleaning tasks on equipment.
• Ensure that the site, the workshop and other work areas remain tidy and organised.
• Providing a helping hand wherever needed.
• Provide support with project work where necessary.
• Work with your colleagues to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly.

In short: A wide-ranging role for someone who enjoys keeping busy and takes pleasure in tackling a variety of tasks.

What are you bringing with you?

• You’re a practical person and enjoy getting stuck in.
• You are reliable and keep your word.
• You can work independently, but you’re also a real team player.
• You have an interest in technology, machinery and/or earth-moving.
• You enjoy carrying out a variety of tasks.
• You’re flexible and can spot opportunities for work yourself.
• Experience in civil engineering, technology, logistics or working with machinery is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• A Category B driving licence, including BE, is an advantage.
• A VCA certificate, or a willingness to obtain one.
